Description1. To outline key elements that should be included in the content of each visit, to bolster therapeutic alliance + patient satisfaction.
2. To discuss how to recognize a high risk (i.e. high-risk for disability) patient early in the treatment course.
3. To provide information on how to approximately manage and direct care as well as oversee employment issues of the injured worker, in order to minimize disability, control lost time, and to control cost of care.
4. To outline elements of a psychosocial assessment to determine if there appear to be significant extraneous contributions to the patient’s complaints.
5. To discuss the basic elements of treatment to maximize rapid recovery of the injured worker.

ObjectivesIn this course, content elements will be outlined and discussed, as will management methods to minimize the likelihood of a delayed recovery and disability developing.
